Connected Accounts

Producer Dashboard integrates with external services to extend what you can do. Currently, two integrations are available: Dropbox for file sharing and Stripe for accepting licensing payments.

ServicePurposeRequired?
DropboxCollaborator file sharingOptional
StripeAccept licensing paymentsOnly if selling beats

Both integrations are managed from Settings > Connected Accounts.

Dropbox is used for sharing files with collaborators. When you share a track with someone, the audio files are delivered via Dropbox.

In Settings, you can see:

  • Connected — your Dropbox account is linked and working
  • Not connected — Dropbox is not linked
  • Token expired — your connection needs to be refreshed
  • Share audio files with collaborators
  • Automatic file organisation in your Dropbox
  • Collaborators can access shared files without needing a Producer Dashboard account

For step-by-step connection instructions, see Connecting Dropbox.

Stripe handles all payment processing for beat licensing. Through Stripe Connect, buyers pay you directly and funds go to your bank account.

In Settings, you can see:

  • Connected — your Stripe account is linked and can accept payments
  • Not connected — Stripe is not set up
  • Pending verification — Stripe needs additional information to complete setup
  • Accept credit card payments for beat licenses
  • Automatic file delivery after purchase
  • Payout directly to your bank account
  • Sales tracking and revenue reporting

For setup instructions, see Setting Up Licensing.

  1. Go to Settings > Connected Accounts.
  2. Click Connect next to the service.
  3. Follow the OAuth flow (you will be redirected to the service’s website to authorise access).
  4. Once authorised, you are redirected back to Producer Dashboard.
  1. Go to Settings > Connected Accounts.
  2. Click Disconnect next to the connected service.
  3. Confirm the disconnection.

Disconnecting a service immediately revokes access. For Dropbox, this means file sharing stops working. For Stripe, this means you can no longer accept new payments. Existing data (sales history, shared files) is not deleted.

Both integrations use OAuth, which means Producer Dashboard never stores your Dropbox or Stripe passwords. The app holds an access token that can be revoked at any time by disconnecting the service.

If you are concerned about security:

  • You can revoke access from within Dropbox or Stripe settings directly
  • Disconnecting from Producer Dashboard revokes the token immediately
  • Reconnecting generates a fresh token
  • Only connect services you actually need. If you are not selling beats, you do not need Stripe.
  • Check your connection status periodically, especially if you notice file sharing or payments not working.
  • If a connection shows as expired, disconnect and reconnect to refresh it.
