Invitations
When someone shares tracks with you in Producer Dashboard, you receive an invitation. Invitations give you control over what enters your library — nothing gets added without your approval.
Receiving an invitation
Section titled “Receiving an invitation”When another PD user shares tracks with you, here is what happens:
- They select tracks and share them with your email address.
- You see a notification in your dashboard the next time you open Producer Dashboard.
- The invitation appears in your Pending Imports section.
- You review the details and decide whether to accept or dismiss.
No tracks are added to your library until you explicitly accept the invitation.
What you see in an invitation
Section titled “What you see in an invitation”Each invitation shows you:
- Who sent it — the name and email of the person sharing
- Track names — the songs being shared with you
- Number of files — how many audio files are included
- Permission level — whether you are being added as an Editor or Viewer
- Date sent — when the invitation was created
This gives you enough context to decide whether you want these tracks in your library.
Accepting an invitation
Section titled “Accepting an invitation”To accept an invitation:
- Go to your dashboard.
- Find the invitation in the Pending Imports section.
- Click Accept.
Once accepted:
- The shared tracks appear in your library.
- Audio files are organized in your Dropbox under the shared folder.
- You can immediately listen, comment, and (depending on your permissions) edit the tracks.
- The sender is notified that you accepted.
Accepted tracks behave like any other track in your library, except they show a shared indicator so you know they came from someone else.
Dismissing an invitation
Section titled “Dismissing an invitation”If you do not want the shared tracks:
- Find the invitation in your Pending Imports section.
- Click Dismiss.
Dismissing an invitation:
- Removes it from your pending list.
- Does not add any tracks to your library.
- Does not delete the tracks from the sender’s library.
- Notifies the sender that you declined.
You can ask the sender to share again later if you change your mind.
Checking invitations you have sent
Section titled “Checking invitations you have sent”As a sender, you can track the status of your outgoing invitations:
- Open the sharing panel from your track or the main menu.
- Look at the Sent Invitations section.
Each sent invitation shows:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | The recipient has not responded yet |
| Accepted | The recipient added the tracks to their library |
| Dismissed | The recipient declined the invitation |
This helps you know whether your collaborators have received and accepted the tracks you shared.
Multiple tracks in one invitation
Section titled “Multiple tracks in one invitation”You can share multiple tracks at once. The recipient receives a single invitation that covers all the tracks. They accept or dismiss the entire batch — there is no option to cherry-pick individual tracks from a single invitation.
If you want to give the recipient more control, send separate invitations for each track or group of tracks.
Invitation notifications
Section titled “Invitation notifications”Producer Dashboard notifies you about invitations in these ways:
- Dashboard badge — a count of pending invitations appears on your dashboard.
- In-app notification — a notification appears when you open PD after someone shares with you.
Check your dashboard regularly if you are expecting shared tracks from collaborators.
Expired invitations
Section titled “Expired invitations”Invitations do not expire. They remain in your pending list until you accept or dismiss them. However, if the sender revokes access before you accept, the invitation is automatically removed from your pending list.
- Accept invitations promptly so you can start working on shared tracks without delay.
- If you are the sender, follow up with collaborators who have not accepted after a few days. They might have missed the notification.
- When sharing multiple tracks, consider whether the recipient would prefer them as one batch or separate invitations.
- Check your pending imports section after sessions with collaborators. They may have shared new material during or after the session.
