Adding Collaborators
Every track is a team effort. Producer Dashboard lets you attach collaborators to any track so you always know who worked on what.
Where to add collaborators
Section titled “Where to add collaborators”You can add collaborators from two places:
- Collaborators widget in the activity panel (select a track, then open the collaborators widget)
- Detail modal for any track (click the track name to open it, then scroll to the collaborators section)
Both paths lead to the same result. Use whichever feels faster for your workflow.
Adding a new collaborator
Section titled “Adding a new collaborator”- Open the collaborators widget or detail modal for your track.
- Click Add Collaborator.
- Enter their name and email address.
- Choose their role from the dropdown.
- Click Save.
The collaborator appears on the track immediately. No page refresh, no waiting.
Available roles
Section titled “Available roles”Producer Dashboard includes standard music industry roles:
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Producer | Beat maker, arrangement, overall production |
| Vocalist | Singer, rapper, or other vocal performance |
| Engineer | Mixing, mastering, or recording engineer |
| Songwriter | Lyricist or topline writer |
| Musician | Session player or instrumentalist |
| Composer | Musical composition |
| Featured Artist | Featured credit on the release |
| Remixer | Remix or alternate version creator |
You can assign multiple roles to the same person if they wore several hats on a track.
They don’t need a PD account
Section titled “They don’t need a PD account”Your collaborators do not need their own Producer Dashboard account to appear on your tracks. When you add someone by name and email, they are stored as a collaborator record in your library.
This is useful for:
- Keeping accurate credits before a release
- Tracking who contributed to each song
- Preparing split sheets and PRO registrations
If a collaborator later joins Producer Dashboard, you can connect their account to the existing collaborator record.
Adding the same collaborator to multiple tracks
Section titled “Adding the same collaborator to multiple tracks”If you work with the same people regularly, you do not need to re-enter their details every time. Once a collaborator exists in your library, they appear in the autocomplete when you start typing their name on a new track.
For projects where the same team works on every song, consider setting up default project collaborators to save even more time.
Editing collaborator details
Section titled “Editing collaborator details”Click on any collaborator listed on a track to edit their:
- Name
- Role
- Split percentages (see Splits & Rights)
Changes apply to that collaborator across all tracks where they appear.
Removing a collaborator from a track
Section titled “Removing a collaborator from a track”To remove a collaborator from a specific track:
- Open the collaborators widget or detail modal.
- Click the remove icon next to their name.
- Confirm the removal.
This only removes them from that track. Their record still exists in your library for use on other tracks.
- Add collaborators early in the production process so you never forget who worked on what.
- Use accurate email addresses. These are used when exporting split sheets and for sharing features.
- If you frequently collaborate with the same group, set up default collaborators on your project.
