Setting Up Your Page
Setting up your public page takes a few minutes. You are choosing a URL, adding your branding, and writing a short bio. Once that is done, you can start adding music and go live.
Getting to the setup
Section titled “Getting to the setup”Open Settings in Producer Dashboard and navigate to the Public Page section. This is where all your page configuration lives.
Choosing your URL slug
Section titled “Choosing your URL slug”Your public page URL follows this pattern:
producerdashboard.app/your-slugThe slug is the part you choose. Pick something short, memorable, and recognisable:
producerdashboard.app/djkairo— your producer nameproducerdashboard.app/nightowlbeats— your brand nameproducerdashboard.app/sarah-chen— your real name
Rules for slugs
Section titled “Rules for slugs”- Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
- No spaces or special characters
- Must be unique — nobody else can have the same slug
- Minimum 3 characters
Choose carefully. Your slug becomes part of every link you share, so it should be something you are happy with long term. You can change it later, but anyone using the old URL will get a broken link.
Setting your accent colour
Section titled “Setting your accent colour”The accent colour appears throughout your public page — in headings, the waveform player, buttons, and interactive elements. Pick a colour that matches your brand or aesthetic.
- Click the colour picker in the Accent Colour field.
- Choose your colour or enter a hex code directly.
- The preview updates so you can see how it looks.
If you are not sure, the default blue works well for most pages. You can always change it later.
Uploading a banner image
Section titled “Uploading a banner image”The banner appears at the top of your public page. It is the first thing visitors see, so make it count.
Recommended specs
Section titled “Recommended specs”| Property | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Size | 1600 x 400 pixels or wider |
| Aspect ratio | 4:1 works well |
| Format | JPG or PNG |
| File size | Under 2MB for fast loading |
Good banner options:
- A studio photo
- Album artwork or a brand graphic
- A live performance shot
- A simple gradient or textured background
To upload:
- Click the banner area or the Upload Banner button.
- Select your image file.
- The banner preview updates immediately.
If you do not upload a banner, your page displays a clean default header using your accent colour.
Writing your bio
Section titled “Writing your bio”The bio section gives visitors context about who you are. Keep it concise — two or three sentences is plenty.
Good bios answer these questions:
- What kind of music do you make?
- What is your experience or notable work?
- What are you available for?
Examples
Section titled “Examples”“Melbourne-based producer specialising in electronic and ambient music. Credits include placements with XYZ Label and scores for independent film. Open for sync licensing and collaboration.”
“Hip-hop and R&B producer. 10 years making beats, 3 albums released independently. Available for custom production and beat leasing.”
“Film and TV composer. Recent work includes scores for documentary series and advertising campaigns. Contact me for briefs.”
Write in the Bio field in the settings. Plain text only — keep it simple.
Adding social links
Section titled “Adding social links”Connect your profiles so visitors can find you across the web. Producer Dashboard supports links to:
- Twitter / X
- YouTube
- SoundCloud
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- Bandcamp
- Any custom URL
To add a link:
- Click Add Social Link.
- Choose the platform from the dropdown (or select Custom for others).
- Paste your profile URL.
- Save.
Social links appear as icons on your public page. Visitors click an icon and go straight to your profile on that platform.
You can add as many links as you like, but three to five is a good range. Too many icons can look cluttered.
Previewing your setup
Section titled “Previewing your setup”As you configure your page, you can preview how it looks at any time. See Preview & Publish for details on the preview experience.
- Use the same name and branding across your public page and your social profiles. Consistency builds recognition.
- If you do not have a banner ready, skip it for now and publish without one. You can add it later. Do not let a missing banner image stop you from going live.
- Keep your bio updated. If you land a big placement or finish a notable project, add it.
- Test your slug by typing the full URL into a browser after publishing. Make sure it looks and feels right.
