Creating Share Links
Sharing a track from Producer Dashboard takes about ten seconds. You click a button, get a link, and send it to whoever needs to hear your music. The recipient does not need an account — they just open the link in a browser.
Sharing a single track
Section titled “Sharing a single track”- Select a track in the tracks grid by clicking its row.
- Click the Share button in the activity panel toolbar. You can also right-click the track and choose Share from the context menu.
- Producer Dashboard generates a unique URL for that track.
- The link is copied to your clipboard automatically.
- Paste it into an email, message, or anywhere else.
That is it. Your recipient opens the link and sees a clean playback page with your track title, artwork, and a waveform player.
Sharing multiple tracks as a playlist
Section titled “Sharing multiple tracks as a playlist”You can bundle up to 50 tracks into a single share link. This is great for sending album demos, beat packs, or a curated selection to a client.
- Select multiple tracks in the grid. Hold Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) and click each track, or use Shift to select a range.
- Click the Share button.
- Producer Dashboard creates a playlist share link containing all selected tracks.
- The link is copied to your clipboard.
Recipients see a playlist view with all your tracks listed in order. They can play through them sequentially or jump to any track in the list. See Playlist Sharing for more details on the playlist experience.
What the link looks like
Section titled “What the link looks like”Each share link is a unique URL that points to Producer Dashboard’s share page. It looks something like:
https://producerdashboard.app/share/abc123xyzThe random string at the end is unique to your share. Nobody can guess it, and it only works as long as you keep it active.
Configuring your share
Section titled “Configuring your share”Before or after generating the link, you can adjust settings:
- Allow downloads — let recipients download the audio file. Off by default.
- Expiry date — set a date when the link stops working. Useful for time-sensitive demos.
- Message — add a note that appears on the share page. Good for context like “Here’s the updated mix, let me know about the intro.”
See Share Settings for the full details on each option.
What happens after you share
Section titled “What happens after you share”Once you send the link:
- The recipient opens it in any modern browser.
- They see your track with its metadata, waveform player, and your message (if you added one).
- If you enabled downloads, a download button appears.
- They can leave timestamped comments directly on the share page.
- You can track views and downloads from the sharing widget. See Tracking Engagement.
Re-sharing and managing links
Section titled “Re-sharing and managing links”Every share link you create appears in the sharing widget on the activity panel. From there you can:
- Copy the link again if you need to re-send it
- View how many times it has been opened
- Check download counts
- Delete the link to revoke access immediately
See Managing Share Links for the full management workflow.
- You do not need to save or publish your track before sharing it. Any track in your library can be shared.
- Share links work on mobile browsers too, so your recipient can listen on their phone.
- If you share a track and then update the audio file, the share link automatically reflects the latest version.
- For ongoing collaborations where both parties use Producer Dashboard, consider collaborator sharing instead of links.
