Using the Chat Assistant
Producer Dashboard includes a built-in AI chat assistant that lets you interact with your music catalog using natural language. Instead of clicking through menus and filters, you can just ask.
Opening the assistant
Section titled “Opening the assistant”Click the chat icon in the app toolbar to open the assistant panel. It slides in from the side, giving you a conversational interface alongside your existing workspace.
You can keep the assistant open while you work, or close it and reopen it at any time. Your conversation history is preserved within the session.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”The assistant has access to your Producer Dashboard data — your tracks, projects, collaborators, tags, stages, todos, and more. When you ask a question or give an instruction, it queries your catalog and responds with relevant information or takes action.
Think of it as a command line for your music catalog, but in plain English.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”The assistant supports three main types of interaction:
Ask questions about your catalog
Section titled “Ask questions about your catalog”Get instant answers about your music library:
- “How many tracks do I have?”
- “Which songs are in the Mixing stage?”
- “What are my most recent imports?”
- “How many tracks are in the Summer EP project?”
Manage tracks and data
Section titled “Manage tracks and data”Make changes through conversation:
- “Move Summer Vibes to the Mastering stage”
- “Add the tag ‘chill’ to Late Night Drive”
- “Set the BPM of Ocean Breeze to 120”
Get insights and summaries
Section titled “Get insights and summaries”Understand your catalog at a high level:
- “Which projects are overdue?”
- “Give me a summary of my open todos”
- “What are my most-used tags?”
- “How many tracks have collaborators?”
The conversation interface
Section titled “The conversation interface”The assistant uses a standard chat interface:
- Type your message in the input field at the bottom.
- Press Enter or click the send button.
- Read the response that appears in the conversation.
- Follow up with additional questions or instructions.
The assistant remembers context within a conversation, so you can ask follow-up questions naturally:
“How many tracks are in the Ready to Mix stage?”
“You have 12 tracks in Ready to Mix.”
“Move all of them to the Mixing stage.”
When the assistant takes action
Section titled “When the assistant takes action”When you ask the assistant to make changes (like moving tracks to a different stage), it tells you what it is about to do before executing. This gives you a chance to confirm or correct before anything changes.
Changes made through the assistant follow the same rules as changes made through the UI — they are instant, saved automatically, and synced across your workspace.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”The assistant works with the data in your Producer Dashboard account. It cannot:
- Access the internet or external services
- Play audio files
- Interact with your DAW
- Access files on your computer outside of Producer Dashboard
It is best suited for catalog queries, data management, and workflow tasks within the app.
- Be specific when possible. “How many tracks are in the Mixing stage?” is better than “Tell me about my tracks.”
- Use the assistant for bulk operations. Moving ten tracks to a new stage is faster by asking than by clicking each one.
- Ask for summaries when you need a quick status update on your projects.
- If the assistant does not understand your request, try rephrasing it.
