Sharing Widget

The sharing widget lets you create share links without leaving the tracks page. When you need to send a beat to a vocalist, share a mix with a client, or get feedback from a collaborator, this widget handles it in a few clicks.

Share links open a public page where the recipient can listen to the track, leave comments, and download files — depending on the permissions you set.

  1. Select a track in the grid and open the activity panel.
  2. Find the Sharing widget.
  3. Click Create share link.
  4. A unique link is generated and displayed in the widget.

The link is active immediately. Click the copy button next to it to put the URL on your clipboard, then paste it into a message, email, or wherever you need to send it.

When creating or editing a share link, you can configure:

SettingDescription
Allow downloadsWhether the recipient can download the audio file
Allow commentsWhether the recipient can leave comments on the track
Password protectionRequire a password to access the shared page
ExpirationSet the link to expire after a specific date

These settings let you control exactly what the recipient can do. A client review link might allow comments but not downloads. A collaborator link might allow both. A private demo link might expire after a week.

To adjust settings, click the settings icon next to an existing share link in the widget.

If the track already has one or more share links, they are listed in the widget. Each link entry shows:

  • Link URL — the shareable address (truncated for display, with a copy button)
  • Created date — when the link was generated
  • Status — active, expired, disabled, or password-protected
  • Engagement stats — how many times the link has been viewed and played

This gives you a quick overview of what has already been shared without navigating to a separate settings page.

Each share link tracks basic engagement data:

  • Views — how many times the shared page was loaded
  • Plays — how many times the audio was played
  • Comments — how many comments were left (if enabled)
  • Downloads — how many times the file was downloaded (if enabled)

These stats give you a sense of whether your recipients are engaging with the track. If a link has been viewed but never played, the recipient may not have gotten around to listening yet.

Stats update in near real-time. Check back after sending a link to see activity as it happens.

The most common action in the sharing widget is copying a link. Every share link has a copy button right next to it. One click puts the full URL on your clipboard.

If no share link exists yet, the widget offers a one-click create and copy option. Click it and a new link is generated and copied in a single action — the fastest way to get a link out the door.

If you need to revoke access without permanently deleting the link, you can disable it. A disabled link returns an “unavailable” message when someone tries to visit it. You can re-enable it later if needed.

To permanently remove a share link, click the delete option in its settings. The link stops working and is removed from the widget. This action cannot be undone.

When a recipient opens your share link, they see a public page featuring:

  • The track’s artwork (if set)
  • The song name
  • A waveform player for listening
  • A comments section (if enabled)
  • A download button (if enabled)

The page is styled and branded, presenting your music professionally. Make sure you have artwork set before sharing — it makes a noticeable difference in how the page looks.

The sharing widget works with a single track at a time. When multiple tracks are selected, the widget shows the number of selected tracks and suggests narrowing to one to create or manage share links.

If you want to share multiple tracks together, consider creating a playlist share link. See Sharing for that workflow.

  • Create links proactively. Before a feedback session, generate the share link so it is ready to paste when the conversation starts.
  • Use password protection for sensitive tracks. If the track is unreleased or under NDA, a password adds a layer of security.
  • Check engagement stats before follow-ups. If you sent a link three days ago and it has not been viewed, a gentle nudge might be in order.
  • Disable links when feedback is complete. Once you have all the feedback you need, disable the share link to keep your unreleased work private.
  • Check existing links before creating new ones. If you already have an active share link for a track, you can reuse it instead of generating a duplicate.
