Export Widget
The export widget lets you generate downloadable files containing track metadata, collaborator information, and split details. Whether you need a spreadsheet for your manager, a split sheet for your collaborators, or formatted data for registering works with a PRO, this widget handles it without leaving the tracks page.
Export Formats
Section titled “Export Formats”The widget offers two main export paths depending on what you need:
| Format | Best For |
|---|---|
| CSV | Spreadsheets, internal reviews, label submissions, general-purpose data |
| PRO format | Registering works with Performing Rights Organisations (BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, PRS, etc.) |
Choose the format that fits the recipient. If you are sharing data with a team member or label, CSV is usually the simplest option. If you are registering songs with your PRO, use the dedicated format to avoid manual reformatting.
CSV Export
Section titled “CSV Export”Click Export CSV to download a comma-separated file containing the selected track’s data. The CSV includes:
- Song name and created date
- BPM and key
- Genre and mood
- Collaborator names, roles, and split percentages
- Stage and bucket assignment
- Due date
- All applied tags
This file opens in any spreadsheet application (Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers) for review or further processing. Columns are clearly labelled so the data is readable without a guide.
If a field is empty on the track, it appears blank in the export. Filling in metadata before exporting gives you the most complete output.
PRO Format Export
Section titled “PRO Format Export”The PRO export structures your data in the way Performing Rights Organisations expect when you register a new work. This includes:
- Writer and publisher information — names, roles, and IPI/CAE numbers (if set in collaborator profiles)
- Ownership splits — formatted as percentage shares per contributor
- Work details — song title, alternate titles, and duration
Select the PRO export option and choose the format that matches your organisation. The export handles the layout so you can submit the data directly or paste it into your PRO’s registration portal with minimal adjustment.
If collaborator profiles are missing IPI numbers, the export leaves those fields blank. You can add IPI numbers through the collaborators system and re-export when ready.
What Data Is Included
Section titled “What Data Is Included”The export pulls from all the metadata you have set across the activity panel widgets:
| Data Source | What Exports |
|---|---|
| Overview | Song name, created date |
| Musical Attributes | BPM, key, genre, mood |
| Collaborators | Names, roles, split percentages, IPI numbers |
| Tags | All applied tags |
| Due Date | Current deadline |
| Bucket | Project assignment |
| Files | File names and types (CSV only) |
The more complete your metadata, the more useful the export. If you see gaps in the exported file, check the corresponding widget and fill in the missing information.
Multi-Select Export
Section titled “Multi-Select Export”When multiple tracks are selected, the export generates a file containing all of them. Each track appears as a separate row in CSV or a separate entry in PRO format.
This is useful for:
- Exporting an entire album or EP at once
- Sending a batch of tracks to a label or distributor
- Registering multiple works with your PRO in one submission
- Creating a project summary spreadsheet for a client
Select the tracks you want, open the export widget, and choose your format. The file includes every selected track with all its metadata.
Checking Before Export
Section titled “Checking Before Export”Before exporting, the widget shows a quick summary of data completeness. If any selected tracks have missing collaborators, empty splits, or incomplete metadata, you see a note about it. This helps you catch gaps before generating a file that you then need to fix manually.
The Track Warnings Widget also flags incomplete splits and missing metadata. Checking warnings before export saves you from submitting incomplete data.
- Fill in collaborator data before exporting. The export is only as complete as the metadata you have entered. Make sure splits, roles, and IPI numbers are set correctly.
- Use CSV for quick reviews. If you just need a spreadsheet to share with a manager or label, CSV is the simplest option.
- Use PRO formats for registration. When registering works with your PRO, the dedicated format saves you from manual reformatting.
- Export full projects at once. Select all tracks in a project and export them together for a complete album or EP data sheet.
- Re-export after updates. If you change splits or add collaborators after an initial export, generate a fresh file to keep your records current.
