Artwork Widget
The artwork widget lets you attach cover art to your tracks. Whether you have finished artwork from a designer or just want a placeholder while you work, this is where you manage it.
Artwork shows up across the app — in the grid, on share pages, and in exported data — so adding it early helps keep your catalog looking polished.
Uploading Artwork
Section titled “Uploading Artwork”There are two ways to add artwork to a track.
Drag and Drop
Section titled “Drag and Drop”- Select a track in the grid.
- Find the Artwork widget in the activity panel.
- Drag an image file from your desktop or file manager and drop it onto the widget’s drop zone.
- The image uploads and appears as the track’s artwork immediately.
Click to Browse
Section titled “Click to Browse”- Select a track in the grid.
- In the artwork widget, click the upload area or the upload button.
- Your system file picker opens. Select an image and confirm.
- The image uploads and is assigned to the track.
In both cases, the upload happens in the background. You can continue working while it processes.
Supported Formats
Section titled “Supported Formats”The artwork widget accepts the following image formats:
| Format | Extension |
|---|---|
| PNG | .png |
| JPEG | .jpg, .jpeg |
| WebP | .webp |
For best results, use a square image at least 1400 x 1400 pixels. This ensures the artwork looks sharp across all contexts, from small grid thumbnails to full-size share pages.
There is no strict file size limit, but images are optimised on upload to keep things fast. Extremely large files (over 20 MB) may take a moment longer to process.
Replacing Artwork
Section titled “Replacing Artwork”If a track already has artwork, uploading a new image replaces it. The old image is removed and the new one takes its place everywhere the artwork appears.
To replace artwork:
- Select the track.
- Drag a new image onto the artwork widget, or click to browse.
- The new image replaces the old one instantly.
There is no separate “delete” step needed — just upload the replacement.
Removing Artwork
Section titled “Removing Artwork”If you want to remove artwork without replacing it, hover over the artwork preview in the widget and click the remove button (an X icon) that appears. The track reverts to having no artwork.
Bulk Artwork Upload
Section titled “Bulk Artwork Upload”When you select multiple tracks in the grid, the artwork widget lets you assign the same image to all of them at once. This is useful when:
- All the tracks belong to the same EP or album and share cover art
- You want to set a temporary placeholder across a batch of songs
- You are preparing tracks for release and applying final artwork in bulk
To bulk upload:
- Select multiple tracks in the grid using Shift+Click or Cmd+Click.
- Open the activity panel and find the artwork widget.
- Drag or upload an image.
- The same artwork is applied to every selected track.
AI-Generated Artwork
Section titled “AI-Generated Artwork”The artwork widget includes an option to generate artwork using AI. This is helpful when you need a quick visual for a work-in-progress track or want inspiration for a direction.
To generate artwork:
- Select a track.
- In the artwork widget, click the Generate button.
- The system creates an image based on the track’s metadata (song name, genre, mood).
- Review the generated image. If you like it, confirm to set it as the track’s artwork.
Generated artwork is a starting point. You can always replace it later with custom art from a designer.
Where Artwork Appears
Section titled “Where Artwork Appears”Once you set artwork for a track, it shows up in several places:
- Track grid — as a small thumbnail next to the song name
- Activity panel — in the overview and artwork widgets
- Share pages — when you share a track link, the artwork displays on the public page
- Exports — artwork metadata is included when exporting track data
Keeping artwork up to date across your catalog makes everything look more professional, especially when sharing tracks with collaborators or clients.
- Add artwork early, even if it is rough. A placeholder image is better than a blank square when you are scanning your library or sharing links.
- Use square images. Non-square images will be cropped to fit, which can cut off important details.
- Bulk assign for albums. If ten tracks share the same cover, select them all and upload once.
Related
Section titled “Related”- Using the Activity Panel — how the full panel works
- Overview Widget — the track summary at the top of the panel
- Sharing Widget — creating share links that display your artwork
- Files Widget — managing audio and project files
